Class
There are two types of model yachts: international and non-international classes. It will be managed according to the class rules set by the International Class Association (ICA). International classes include International One Meter (IOM), Marblehead (M), Ten Rater (10R), and A Class, and ICA (IOMICA, IMCA, ITCA) has been established for IOM, M, and 10R. A Class does not have an ICA established and is directly managed by IRSA. Domestic classes include 36/600 class and FJ class, and JMYA manages the class rules.
Yachts created by model makers are called one-design yachts. There are Sea Window, Gracious, CR914, Innovator, etc., but production of most classes has now been discontinued and it is difficult to obtain parts. The DF class (65, 95) is also one of the one-design classes, and due to its low price and high performance, it is actively competed around the world and is widely used in Japan. The DF Class International Class Association (DFICA) has been established, but this is a private organization rather than a class association affiliated with WS or IRSA.

●International One Meter (IOM)
The International One Meter (IOM) class is the most popular class in the world. The World Championship is held once every two years, and regional competitions such as the European Championship and the North American Championship are also held. Races are also actively held in Japan.

●Marblehead (M)
The International Marblehead (M) class is perhaps the most exciting model yacht, combining reasonable size and light weight with high maneuverability and stability. It is larger than the IOM and allows you to enjoy powerful sailing.

IRSA A class boats have no length limit, but are controlled by a formula that balances waterline length, displacement, and sail area. There are no registered boats and no races are held in Japan.

ーDF classー
Dragon Force (DF) is a commercially available yacht that anyone can purchase, has a high degree of perfection, and is capable of full-scale racing. Basically, no modifications can be made, so everyone from those who are running a radio-controlled yacht for the first time to those who are experienced can enjoy racing under the same conditions. It is rapidly gaining popularity around the world, and races are held all over the country. JMYA has been holding an All-Japan class tournament since 2022.
There are two classes: Dragon Force 65 (DF65) total length 65cm and Dragon Flite 95 (DF95) total length 95cm.

The rules for the 36/600 class differ in each country, and in Japan, the JMYA sets the class rules. With the exception of overall length and sail area, there is a high degree of freedom in design, allowing you to create high-performance boats.
