1999−2000 Japan-Guam Yacht Race (Summary)
National Authority
The national Authority referred to in the "1997-2000 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)" is Japan Sailing Federation (JSAF).
Organizing Authority
Races shall be under the control and management of the JSAF Misaki in conjunction with Marianas Yacht Club and appointed Principal Race officers.

Late Start
Late start may be accepted within 24hours after official start time, only if claim for late start is
recognized as reasonable.
Rules
1) Must comply with Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 1997-2000
Appendix-K will be altered with race notice
2) Must comply with ORC Special Regulations1998-1999 categories-1
However race committee recommended to equip with EPIRB
Class-B and Grab Bag accompanies each liferaft.
Also recommended to include ORC Special regulations section 5 personal equipment

Advertising
Unless otherwise specified in event Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions, events shall be
classified Category B in accordance with "RRS" Appendix G4.
Eligibility
1) Monohull yacht over LOA 10 meter and either registered of JSAF or equivalent
2) All yacht must comply with ORC Special Regulations categories-1 and JGYR Special
Regulations
3) Following communication tool must be equipped
Satellite International Telephone (provided)
Satellite 406MHZ EPIRB
International VHF Radio
Spare Radio (either one of HF-SSB marine Radio or Amateur radio or spare
Satellite telephone)
4) Skipper must experienced more than 5 times of offshore sailing which include night
sailing of 100miles long or one time offshore sailing more than 500miles
6) All crew must be ISAF registered member also he or she must experienced at least offshore
sailing which include night sailing of 100miles long
7) All Yacht must be adequately covered by Insurance for his liabilities (at least hundred million
yen per person per death)
Entry
All entries are requested to be submitted to JGYR Race Office no later than Nov.12.1999 17:00
Japan time.
Late entry may be accepted until Dec.01, 1999 17:00 Japan time (with 250000yen per Yacht and
20000yen per person for entry fee)
