江ノ島オリンピックウィーク２００５ 第１日目
初日は見城（山口県セーリング連盟）が１−１で安定した走りを見せてくれました。また、女子は小菅がリードしています。 ４７０級はオーストラリアからベルチャー・ベーレンス組が参加していますが、第１レースでトップをとりながらも２レース目は定置網に翻弄されて１６位となり、総合６位になっています。女子の近藤・鎌田組（アビーム・法政大学）が男子チームを抑えて初日のトップに立ちました。２位は谷口・吉見（第一経済大学）、３位にアテネ五輪銅メダリストの関・柳川組（関東自動車工業）がつけています。
１レースしか行われなかったレーザーとラジアル級は飯島（逗葉フリート）、石川（ベネッセ）がそれぞれリードしています。 今大会にはオーストラリア、タイ、インドネシア、デンマークからの参加があります。また、大会は２３日までに１１レースを行う予定です。 本日の成績：４７０級

江ノ島オリンピックウィーク２００５ 第２日目
ＲＳ−Ｘクラスは男女合計で５隻の参加ですが、同時スタートで、セールエリアの大きい男子、やや小さい女子が競っています。風が弱くなるとパンピングがきつく、今日もトップをキープした見城選手も苦戦していました。２位の富沢選手は先週ボードを受け取ったばかりで、まだ風の変化に対応してセッティングを変えたり、ダガーボードを効果的に使ったりという細かいことがつかめていません。ＲＳ−Ｘは今後も選手が一丸となって、新しいボードに取り組むことになり、オリンピック３回出場のベテラン今井選手は、「フレッシュな感じで、楽しい。」と、新たなる意欲を見せていました。 ４９ｅｒは４レースを行い、轟・貴田組がデンマークと１点差で競っています。１ブローで差がついたり、逆転したり、ドラマチックな順位の変動が見られました。
ラジアル級は石川選手が昨日に続きリードを保ちましたが、２位の才木選手、３位のシンスパ選手（タイ）、４位の濱口選手まで僅差で続いています。４７０と同じコースでかなり長いレースになって、１日の終わりには疲れた表情を見せる女子選手達でした。 ４７０男女は谷口・吉見組が安定した走りでトップに出ました。２位に松永・上野組、３位に女子の近藤・鎌田組が続いています。関・柳川組は４−７−６位と堅く走っているのですが、上位は５位以内を確実にキープしていく安定さを見せています。 明日も３ないし４レースを予定しています。 成績：４７０級 本日３レース ４１隻参加

江ノ島オリンピックウィーク２００５ 第３日目
４９ｅｒ級がスタートした時にはレースエリアの西側を通過した雨雲からの吸い込みがあり、風は大きく東にシフトしたものの、雲の通過とともに風がなくなり、風のむらがある海面での難しいレースになりました。トップをとったデンマークのクリステンセン／アンデルセン組は轟・貴田組と同点となり、タイブレークで総合でもトップにでました。明日の最終日に優勝の行方がかかっています。 ＲＳ−Ｘ級は上位３艇がそろってＯＣＳとなり、今日からレースに参加した藤井選手がトップをとりました。風が強くなったり、弱くなったりする中、パンピングがきついクラスです。風速の変化に応じた走りを、もっともっと研究していかなければなりません。 江ノ島オリンピックウィークは本日からオリンピッククラス７種目に加えて、ノンオリンピッククラスとジュニアクラスのレースとして、ミストラル級、スナイプ級、ＦＪ級、シーホッパーＳＲ級の４クラスが増えました。ジュニア選手も加わり、それぞれ１レースを行うことができました。 明日の最終日は１３時を過ぎてからのスタートがありませんから、１ないし２レースを予定しています。

江ノ島オリンピックウィーク２００５ 第４日目（最終日）
| 最終日は朝から南西の風が吹き始め、１０−１８ノットのコンディションでレースを行うことができました。秋晴れの空のもと、頂に雪が見える富士山を背景に各クラス２レース（４９ｅｒのみ１レース）を行いました。
４７０は強風のレースで関・柳川組がオーストラリアのベルチャー・ベーレンス組と僅差の戦いを展開し、最終日にふさわしい白熱したレースを見せてくれました。しかし、その後ろに食いついて離れなかった松永・上野組は２点差で関・柳川組をふりきって総合１位の座を譲りませんでした。強風では世界でトップ５に入るオーストラリアは第６レースでスピンシートをくぐらせてしまい、一時１２位まで落ちてしまいましたが、そこから５位へあがってきたリーチングは圧巻でした。抜かれた上位のセーラーには世界レベルを肌で感じ取ってもらえたことと思います。３位には第一経済大学の谷口・吉見組が入りました。 ４７０女子は初日からリードしていた近藤・鎌田組が吹いたレースでも男子と互角に走り、総合６位と女子優勝を手にしました。２位は弱い風で得点を稼いだ吉迫・大熊組、３位は田畑・栗田組が入りました。 ＲＳ−Ｘは見城選手が吹きのレースでも新しいボードを乗りこなして、１位をキープしました。他の男子がリタイアしてしまった最終レース、女子２艇が走りきる姿は、今後、日本が一丸となってこのクラスを研究し、理解していかなければならないことを訴えているようでした。新しいクラスであり、オリンピックのためにできたクラスです。今回はレースをやることによって、新しい発見が多々ありました。 ４９ｅｒは江ノ島の波に翻弄され、１レースのみ行いました。同点で迎えた最終戦、途中までリードしていた轟・貴田組は最後のフィニッシュラインへのアプローチ・ジャイブポイントを間違えてしまい、デンマークに逆転されてしまいました。デンマークのクリステンセン・アンデルセン組はこのワンポイントで逆転し、優勝ももぎとりました。３位には石橋・梅田組が入りました。 レーザー級はブラジルのワールドでゴールドフリートの激戦を戦ってきた飯島選手が吹いた中では圧倒的な走りで２レースともトップをとり、優勝しました。２位に牧野、３位に永井が入りました。 ラジアルクラスは吹いた中でしっかりとした走りを見せた濱口選手が優勝しました。１２月のラジアル世界選手権に向けてはげみになる結果となりました。２位に石川、３位にタイのワナスースが入りました。 ノン・オリンピッククラスも強風の中、２レースを行いました。土日だけのレースでしたが、微風あり、強風ありで、満足のいくレースができました。

Enoshima Olympic Week 2005 Day 1 - October 20, 2005
Typhoon No. 20 passed off Kanto area early yesterday, and there was good 10-15kt NE gradient breeze through the day. We were very excited to open the RS-X class first race today. As there are only 10 RS-X yet in Japan, 6 of them entered, and 5 of them were sailing today ? 3 men and 2 women. Kenjo had a little edge over the others, and led the whole way. Kosuge showed the speed with the smaller rig to follow closely to the men’s group. We hope to receive more boards in the near future, so that the RS-X competition would be more fleet racing style. Biggest fleet among the Olympic classes is the 470, and after two races today, Kondo/Kamata (Team Abeam) is leading overall. The wind was quite tricky and they did not show any weakness against the men’s top teams. Taniguchi/Yoshimi (Daiichi Univ) is another consistent team, and 3rd overall is Seki/Yanagawa (Kanto Auto Works).
Laser had good battles between top 4 boats, and Iijima (Zuyo) finally won the race. Laser Radial started together with Laser, and Ishikawa (Benesse) came first. 49er had two races today, and Todoroki/Kida won both of them. Christensen/Andeersen (DEN) broke the part of kicker, and retired from the 1st race, and they obviously did not enjoy the flukey breeze. Foreign competitors enjoyed the beautiful sunset of Enoshima when they finished racing today. 470 received 1 Australian and 2 Thailand teams, a competitor from both Indonesia and Thailand for the Laser, and Thai lady for the Laser Radial. Danish 49er team enjoyed swimming today with a dynamic bow digging. 11 races are scheduled until Sunday, Oct. 23. Top 3 scores 470 (M&W)

2005 Enoshima Olympic Week - Day 2, October 21, 2005
49er - Todoroki / Kida (Kanto Auto Works / Toyoda Gousei ) managed to keep their 1st position overall, but Denmark’s Chirstensen/Andersen is only one point behind after one discard. It was a perfect conditions for 49er, and downwind was more to find where the puff come from. RS-X - It is only one fleet, and it is curious to see how Men and Women race together with different rig sizes. Yasuko Kosuge had a good speed to match against two other guys who receive the board only last week. Yasuko had more than two months of sailing, and she was pointing much higher than the guys to sail shorter course than the guys who had dagger board up and sailed longer route ? and wind dropped. She is now standing 3rd, after Kenjo and Tomizawa.
Laser Radial - Ishikawa sailed well to maintain her lead, and behind her, Saiki
, 470 Men and Women - Taniguchi /Yoshimi moved to the top of the 41 boats after showing very consistent way to sail shifty and puffy conditions. Matsunaga / Ueno also had a good day to jump into 2nd position. Kondo / Kamata, leading women’s team, still hang on as 3rd overall, and Kazuto Seki and his new crew Yanagawa are 5th. Belcher/Behrens from Australia did not enjoy lighter condition, but they are learning good light wind technique from the Japanese fleet. 49er has completed 6 races, and 470M&W, RS-X M&W 5 races, and Laser , Laser Radial 4 races - after 5 races, 1 discard. We are execting more breeze from South tomorrow with big swells. 470 Men

2005 Enoshima Olympic Week - Day 3, October 22, 2005
49er - 49er managed to have two laps, and only fleet among the Olympic class to complete the course. Allan Christensen and his new crew, Christian Andeersen managed to win the difficult race today, and now they are tied with Todoroki and Kida. RS-X - The wind shifted to the left before the RS-X start. The line is made for 470 (41 boats), so it was difficult to sight the starting line in the middle. 3 boats were over the line. They also have to sail on the same course as 49er, and it was quite tough to sail 45min course. Non-Olympic classes - In addition to the 7 Olympic classes, 4 non-olympic classes
have joined the Enoshima Olympic Week today. Mistral class sailed together with
RS-X - whichi was interesting to watch how RS-X is different from Mistral. International
Snipe had 11 entries (most of them are University teams), and FJ and Seahopper
SR as Junior classes. Those 4 classes managed to have 1 race today.

2005 Enoshima Olympic Week - Day 4, October 23, 2005
| Final day at Enoshima was finally received SW 10-15kt breeze. Mt. Fuji was
beautiful at the back of the racing scene, and all classes had 2 races completed
except for 49er who had only 1.
470Men - Seki/Yanagawa finally had a good day to finish two races with 1st and 2nd. However, it was not enough to beat the overall leader of Matsunaga/Ueno who also managed to finish 3rd and 5th today. Belcher/Behrens also showed good speed to win the last race, but they dropped the spinnaker sheet under the hull, and took some time to recover during the 2nd run. They were 12th at that moment, but worked extremely hard to pass 7 boats to finish 5th. Ealier leader of Taniguchi/Yoshimi finished 3rd overall. 470 Women - Kondo/Kamata stayed ahead of the rest of the women’s fleet, and finished 6th overall in the mixed fleet. It was good to see them finishing 7th under the 18kt and huge swell/waves conditions. Yoshisako/Ohkuma finished 2nd , and Tabata/Kurita 3rd. RS-X - Kenjo won two more races to win the first RS-X regatta in Japan. In the heavy condition, Masako Imai and Yasuko Kosuge were willing enough to finish the race while other RS-X Men’s group decided to go back to the harbour. Tomizawa came 2nd overall, and Imai eventually moved to 3rd position. During 4 days of this event, there were heaps of learning as well as good discussions of RS-X class in Japan. 49er - Wind was not too bad, however, waves were too tough for 49er sailors so that they only made 1 race today. The battle between Christensen/Andersen and Todoroki/Kida continued today again. Todoroki was leading almost to the finish, but Christensen made better final judgement to the finish line to jybe, and crossed the line just two boat length ahead of Todoroki, and cleared the title. Ishibashi/Umeda , who convered the class from 470 , finished 3rd. Laser - Iijima showed his best skill he learnt during the Laser Worlds in Brasil, and won both races today. Makino showed that he also liked heavy wind and waves, and finished 2nd overall. Laser Radial - Close battle ended with Hamaguchi jumped up from 4th place yesterday to win the Radial class. She certainly enjoyed the heavy wind, and finished 1st and 2nd today. Ishikawa hang on to 2nd place while Sinsupa Wannasuth (Thailand) won a race and finished 6th the other and became 3rd overall. Thailand entered Laser, 470 M&W, and it was nice to bring a trophy home. Non-olympic classes had two races today to complete the regatta. It was only the weekend racing, but they certainly enjoyed light wind yesterday, and much heavier wind today.
